چکیده
Background and Aim: The increasing prevalence of resistance (MDR) Enterobacteriaceae in Indonesia has caused concern regarding human health. Citrobacter freundii reportedly targets the gastrointestinal tract animals is a common cause foodborne diseases associated with diarrhea, peritonitis, meningitis, brain abscess, bacteremia, urinary infection. This study aimed to estimate MDR presence Class 1 integron-encoding genes C. isolates obtained from cloacal swabs healthy laying chickens Blitar district, Indonesia. Materials Methods: One hundred sixty-five swab samples were collected 33 farms over period 4 months. Standard microbiological techniques such as bacterial culture MacConkey agar, Simmons citrate triple sugar iron agar biochemical tests indole test performed identify isolates. antibiotic sensitivity patterns determined by disk diffusion method, MDR-encoding (Class integron) detected polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Results: Out 165 samples, 7 (4.24%) positive for freundii. was highly resistant erythromycin (71.43%) moderately streptomycin, tetracycline, trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (all 42.86%); however, it showed low ampicillin (28.57%). All found exhibit MDR. Only (14.29%) seven harbored integron gene. revealed that have isolated Blitar, Conclusion: Poultry can play role transmission humans due Enterobacteriaceae, including intestines.

متن کاملPrevalence and Antibiotic Resistance Pattern of Citrobacter freundii Isolated from A Burn Center
Background and purpose: Citrobacter freundii causes variety of infections, including respiratory tract infection, wound infection, meningitis, and urinary tract infection. The bacterium is considered as one of the main concerns in healthcare settings due to high antibiotic resistance patterns. The current research aimed at studying the prevalence of C. freundii strains in burned patients and...
متن کاملMutations in the RpoB Gene of Multidrug-Resistant Mycobacterium Tuberculosis Isolates from Semarang, Indonesia
ABSTRACTTuberculosis is an infectious disease which occurs widely in the world and becomes one of the top 10 causes of death worldwide. Mutations of the RpoB gene cause the resistance of Mycobacterium tuberculosis to rifampicin that contributes to the occurrence of MDR-TB. This study aimed to determine the pattern of rpoB gene polymorphisms in the MDR M. tuberculosis in Semarang, Indonesia. Mos...

Citrobacter freundii is an opportunistic pathogen that can cause diarrhea, septicemia, meningitis, and urinary tract infections. We report here the complete genome sequence of C. freundii strain P10159, isolated from urine samples from a patient in China with esophageal carcinoma. The genome has 5,080,321 bp and 4,768 coding sequences, with a G+C content of 51.7%.
متن کاملAntimicrobial resistance pattern of citrobacter species isolated from food outbreaks
Background: Foodborne diseases and resistance to antimicrobial agents are two of the world's most widespread global issues. Also, the excessive use of antibiotics has led to the resistance of bacteria belonging to the Enterobacteriaceae family to antibiotics, especially in carbapenems. Citrobacter is an opportunistic bacterium that is resistant to antibiotics in the emerging bacteria and has ...
